The Seattle Dahlia Society is a non-profit organization created for Northwest Dahlia enthusiasts. We grow, promote and show Dahlias in the Pacific Northwest.
All exhibitors will be classified by their home society and will remain in that exhibitor classification for the current year regardless of winnings. Following are the classification of exhibitors to be used by home society members of the Seattle Dahlia Society.
All exhibitors 16 years of age or under may enter Section 1 through 35. Single entries only. Entry tags need Section number but not "Class." Every worthy entry will receive a ribbon. One entry will be chosen for Best Division. Entries will not be eligible for further awards. The Society reserves the right to advance Junior to Novice Division (for the next show year) based on quality of blooms.
Exhibitors entering dahlias in this division are inexperienced in the showing of dahlias. They may remain in this division for three show seasons regardless of winnings.
This division is for the exhibitor who shows dahlias for fun and experience. Those entering in this division may remain until consistently winning special and/or higher awards for three consecutive show seasons.
This division is for commercial growers and the experienced exhibitors, who are consistent winners in special and/or higher awards during prior show seasons. Senior Judges are required to enter in this division, as per PNDC rules. Exhibitors (other than Senior Judges) who have not consistently won trophies and special awards during the immediate past three consecutive show seasons may revert to the Amateur Division.
